SUPER TIPS to Stay Sharp and Alert!
Okay I ended the last blog by talking about my list of do’s and don’ts in playing long poker games. So here it is – “Jill’s SUPER TIPS to stay sharp and alert”.
- Get at least 6-8 hours of full sleep (don’t do what I did!)
- Eat all three meals and drink lots of water. The carbs will give you enough energy and the water will keep you hydrated.
- Don’t eat oily foods! Yea I know burgers and pizzas are great snacks, but they’ll just bloat your tummy and might even give you a drowsy feeling.
- Eat foods that have good sources of energy. On my menu, I have yogurts, fruits, salads, vegetables sticks, cottage cheese, wheat products, muffins and nuts.
- Drink a cup of green tea! I heard it will keep you up during monster sessions :)
- Sit up straight in your chair and try to keep a good posture.
- Okay, I have this really cool tip which I learned from my friend who studied Acupressure techniques. Take three fingers and firmly tap the top of your head three times. That will keep your mind back on track :)
- Lastly, give your eyes and body some rest! Get yourself away from the computer. Walk around for a few minutes and refresh your mind.
Whew, how I wish I have figured out these tips earlier, so I won’t have to suffer from a 16-hour encounter! Ha-ha! BTW, my SUPER TIPS are not demanding you to totally change your habits during long poker games. But adding and taking off from your routine might be a good help. Good luck on your next session! :)
