Wendeen Eolis' Poker History

Wendeen Eolis was born and still resides in New York City. Wendeen started playing poker at the age of 40 and her favorite poker game is no limit texas hold'em. Eolis earned a degree in Psychology and became proficient in several different languages at college where she met and married her husband. Eolis later worked at the Playboy Club as a "bunny supervisor" and then started her own business as a headhunting firm for lawyers. Eolis then became influential in politics as she was the special advisor to both New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and New York Governor George Pataki.

Wendeen was the first woman at the final table of a major tournament. Wendeen was the 1st woman to finish in the money of the WSOP and she did it twice! Binion's Horseshoe WSOP issued a commemorative poker chip in her name and likeness awarding her contribution to "women's milestones" in the WSOP final event. Also, she is the only woman to win European Open No Limit event. Beyond all this, she is an author who details her poker adventures and is a member of the Women's Poker Hall of Fame! Eolis' career accomplishments make her a role model for women, since she succeeded in poker during the 1970's and 1980's, when many doors were closed to women.
