Overview:
Ultimate
Bet is taking off quite quickly, likely due to
an increase in professional poker player sponsorship.
This is a decent poker site, but the competition
is much stiffer here than at other sites. They
have many different games (they even have exotic
games like Pineapple and Royal Hold'em), though
the exotic games are not very popular. This is
a decent place to play no-limit hold'em online,
since they offer it at as low as $.01-$.02 blinds
up to $50-$100 blinds.
The poker software itself
is mostly smooth, but a little choppy in areas.
I find the process of sitting at a table a little
clunky, and I don't like the small pre-action
button sizes. The in-game advertising banners
also muddy the screen and the lobby is slightly
more difficult to find your way around than it
should be.

The rooms themself are nice...
but there aren't any avatars! I'm playing against
empty chairs! Though you don't get any avatar
options, that's fine - what's most important are
the game features. Something I personally found
unfortunate was that the action isn't terrible
easy to follow... the chair turns yellow from
red. They do have some stats and room options
though, so points for that.

Tournaments and Promotions:
Ultimate Bet offers a lot
of regular promotions, and their latest deposit
bonus is pretty generous at 100% up to $500. Your
bonus is given in UltimatePoints, which can be
converted into real money via their ring games.
Points are based on rake, so generally the higher
the table stakes, the higher amount of points
you'll earn.
They've also started making
bounty tournaments available with some of their
professional team participating. I always like
poker pro bounty tournaments, so these are usually
enjoyable to play in. They actually have a big
sponsored team with Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Hellmuth,
Scotty Nguyen, Annie Duke, and others.
Conclusion:
I like Ultimate Bet, but
just didn't find it a comfortable room to play
in... and the competition is pretty fierce in
the tourny's. The website is functional and has
a lot of information, but it's a pain to navigate
through and doesn't seem to have a real theme.
In conclusion, it's a solid game - but I'd send
a friend to another poker room before I'd send
them here.
