Overview:
Absolute
Poker has been around for a while now, and they've
developed quite a loyal following. The software
is solid, and the site functions very well and
is easy to navigate. With over a half million
members, Absolute Poker is medium to large poker
site. They have good action on their low-limit
tables and some lighter action at the mid-level
stakes.
Absolute Poker's software
package works really well and is quite user-friendly.
The lobby is faster than just about any other
that I've run across. It provides all the necessary
information for ring games, including hands per
hour and percentage seeing the flop. It's easy
to navigate and it looks nice... which is all
you can ask for from a lobby.

The table itself seems to
run on the same graphics engine as Paradise Poker,
but with a sharper and more unified color scheme.
Absolute is another site that allows you to upload
your own avatar, but like Poker Stars, it's just
an image inside a circular button at the table.
There are now table skins as well.

Tournaments and Promotions:
Absolute has a pretty good
range of tournaments, and a bunch of freerolls
to play as a second table. They offer a good number
of low buy-in tournaments. Typically, however,
the number of players isn't very high for their
multi-table satellites, which gives you a much
higher chance of actually earning the entry. The
competition tends to be tighter than average,
but that may be because of the large player base.
During prime hours, you can find full ring games
for fixed-limit and no-limit up to the $5/10 level.
Conclusion:
With their software and high
traffic, Absolute is a solid site, but the lack
of innovation on the graphical end puts me off
a bit. That's just a general criticism however,
and since everything works so well on the software
and website side, I can't fault them for it. Customer
service is only by email, however, so if something
does go wrong, it's not always an efficient process
to get an answer.
