My Monster Session

So, how was everyone’s weekend? Mine was a disaster! “Oh crap!” would be the perfect way to headline it...ugh! I played Hold’em at my favorite poker site and I turned $1700 to $0 in one day. Darn!

It could have all been so different if I got enough sleep. The session lasted for nearly 16 hours (I don’t have plans of breaking any records here ya know – go figure). I started out on a 2-4 limit table and kept moving up as I received good cards. So I’m up all day, trying to bust the guys and win my chips back, until I realized it’s almost 4:00am! I’m exhausted – deprived of sleep, water and food. My mind is blocked, and my vision is getting a bit blurry too...

I was playing solid until...oops! THE WORST POKER HAND I EVER LOST! Ok, well maybe not the WORST... but it still sucked and drained my bankroll. I had pocket Jacks and raised big preflop (thought my hand was good enough). The flop comes – King, Jack, and a Three. So of course I bet big, everyone folds except one player, he raises... and I push all in. He shows K-4... I got’em! (OR so i thought). The turn was a 9, and guess what the river was? You’re right... a King! And there went all my chips. Err...if only I had been thinking straight during that time.

Yea I’ve learned my lesson after going on tilt and misplaying the hand. So yesterday, I met up with a couple of friends and they helped me create a short list of do’s and don’ts in playing long poker games. I’ll share it with you guys next time.

Stay tuned!

Jill
